The "Tin Man" as he was known was quite simply unique. He is idolised in both Glasgow and Derby for his flamboyant style of the wing play, that was on the day either brilliant or just plain awful. In Seville, where he played for just over one year, they idolised him and summed him up by the quote,"with his inelegant Tin Man running style, erratic crossing and unquenchable zest for lager, he was the soul of football".
